Laura Wildgoose from Alextra’s payroll department is cutting off her hair this March so that it can be made into a wig that can change a little girl’s life.
Laura has been growing her hair for the last couple of years to assist The Little Princess Trust with their call for hair donations. The charity is most desperate for donations over 41cm’s and finally Laura’s hair is long enough!
The Little Princess Trust provides free, real-hair wigs for young cancer sufferers or for children and young people experiencing the devastating effects of hair loss. They also fund pioneering, life-saving research into childhood cancers.
They use hair donations and fundraising monies sent by amazing supporters, to manufacture and fit beautiful real hair wigs. The charity was established in 2006 and has supplied over 8000 wigs to children and young people and have invested circa £5 million into ground-breaking childhood cancer research.
For the charity to be able to provide a real-hair wig to a recipient, from start to finish, the cost is over £550 per wig. As well as donating her hair, Laura is fundraising to be also provide the money to cover the cost of making the wig. So far Laura has reached her £550 target, but any other contributions would go a long way to supporting a wonderfully beautiful cause.
When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition a real hair wig can help to restore their confidence and identity. If you would like to support Laura taking the chop, please donate on her Just Giving page – https://www.justgiving.com/Laura-Wildgoose-haircut
