SME’s Across Stoke-on-Trent Can Apply For grant Funding To help Them Get The Most From Digital Technology

Small and medium-sized businesses across Stoke-on-Trent can now apply for grant funding to help them get the most from digital technology.

Grants of up to £10,000 are available to support digital marketing, website design, and the use of digital platforms and the purchase of digital equipment!

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has launched a fund to help give a digital boost to Small to Medium businesses (SMEs) that are located within the city- ‘Powering Up Digital Stoke Business Grant Scheme’.

Grants of up to £10,000 per business will be available to cover expenditure for businesses with a plan to recover and get back to growth.

Grants are available for SME’s that have been actively trading for at least 6 months (commenced trading before 1 November 2020) and who qualify as a commercial activity.

Size of a Business

Grants are available to SME’s within Stoke-on-Trent who pay business rates, or whose landlords pay business rates, or council tax to Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

Eligible costs

Assistance from consultancy or professional services as long as it can assist recovery particularly digital marketing. For example creation of or development of new / existing websites, development of digital platforms and digital marketing strategies.

Purchase of capital items to allow companies to develop digitally.  For example laptops, small electronic devices, online payment systems and hardware.

Location

Applications will be accepted from businesses that are based in Stoke-on-Trent (i.e. Pay business rates (or whose landlords pay business rates) or council tax to Stoke-on-Trent City Council.)

What is the application process?

Businesses are required to read thFAQs and fill in the online application form if your business is eligible.

Grants will be awarded on a first come first served basis and applications will be assessed in order of time and date received.

Applications for companies not already in receipt of the Local Restrictions Support Grants (LRSG) will be prioritised.

It is anticipated that there will be a large number of applications to be submitted, the closing date for which is the 4th June 2021 at 5pm.
